The new trailer for the upcoming Beavis and Butt-Head film, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe, has definitely given fans of the classic Mike Judge series something to look forward to. Throughout its original four-year run on MTV, the series introduced the world not only to two of the biggest dunderheads in the history of animation but also to a cultural phenomenon.

Subversive, unexpected and highly entertaining, Beavis and Butt-Head might not initially come off as capable of doing much more than staring at a TV and commenting, but one look at their history suggests far more. The duo has encountered some pretty amazing situations over the years, with Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe set to provide even more.

Hearing Them Laugh Again For The First Time

It's been 25 years since MTV pulled the plug on Beavis and Butt-Head, and while fans were delighted to see the series revived in 2011, it proved to be a very brief event. At last, they're on their way back, launching their new film trailer with some signature stoner laughter.

As the voice of both Beavis and Butt-Head, creator Mike Judge has supplied the characters with an incessant chuckling and chortling that remains their biggest trademark. To hear that laughter against a black screen at the start of the first trailer for Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe provides a moment of pure delight for fans.

When They Vomited In Zero Gravity

Anything that involves Beavis and Butt-Head will also ultimately provide a certain amount of body humor and gross-out gags. The original series never shied away from these aspects and it should come as no surprise that their upcoming film won't, either.

A trip to space offers unlimited opportunities for Beavis and Butt-Head to literally take their comedy to new heights. Granted, this humor isn't for everyone, but seeing the pair in their NASA suits, spewing out arcs of vomit in zero gravity, is just too great for some to resist.

When They Made The Space Equipment Do Perverted Things

The first moment in the new trailer where fans get to see Beavis and Butt-Head in their classic AC/DC and Metallica T-shirts comes with a bonus. Manipulating the controls of some space equipment, the duo prove they haven't matured in 25 years.

The sounds of the hydraulic equipment being repeatedly raised and lowered while the pair snicker and say things like "yeah" and "whoa" is awkward yet hilarious. Beavis and Butt-Head are back and the same as they've always been and somehow that never stops being funny.

When They Couldn't Get Over Seeing The Number 69

Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe doesn't just involve a journey into space. It also sees the moronic pals travel into the future – or in this case, our present – after a black hole in space sends them from 1998 to 2022.

The trailer shows what appears to be Beavis and Butt-Heads' initial arrival in 2022. Faced with a billboard that states the year, the pair are instead delighted that the number 69 appears, as well. The miracle of time travel simply can't compete with anything even remotely suggestive for these guys.

When Cornholio's Return Was Teased

Originally introduced in the Beavis and Butt-Head TV series, Beavis' caffeine or sugar-fueled Cornholio alter ego has endured for years. Aside from the TV series, Cornholio also makes an appearance in 1996's Beavis and Butt-Head Do America and returns again in the new film.

Judging by the trailer, Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe appears to have a scene in the movie where the duo is in prison. Regardless of what happens during this incarceration, what's clear is that Cornholio returns, and seeing him again after all these years while a crowd of inmates chant "T.P." is a special kind of magic.

When They Met Their Evolved, Futuristic Selves

The reason Beavis and Butt-Head have endured all these years is simply that their outright stupidity has endeared them to viewers. Easily confused and obsessed with immature takes on sex, the pair meet a highly evolved version of themselves in the new trailer.

It's hard to imagine any Beavis and Butt-Head fan preferring an intelligent version of the two friends, but seeing the two as an alternate dimension/Twilight Zone version of themselves is downright hilarious. Fans have seen the two experience a lot over the years, but this is something that surely won't be forgotten any time soon.

When Beavis & Butt-Head Are Monarchs

There's no doubt about it – some wild stuff seems to be happening to Beavis and Butt-Head in the upcoming film. Whether or not this is the result of crisscrossing through dimensions that shouldn't be messed with remains to be seen, and fans are surely already laughing as a result.

The moment in the new trailer when the aforementioned "evolved" versions of themselves stand on stage with a Beavis queen and a Butt-Head king is weird, to say the least. But once again, it's hard to deny the humor in such a ridiculous situation. Also, Beavis is particularly funny yet slightly terrifying as a Queen Elizabeth-looking monarch.

When They Were Old Men Watching Their Younger Selves

At one point in the new trailer, fans are treated to a glimpse of the future of Beavis and Butt-Head. The moment is odd yet strangely satisfying in the funniest of ways, as old Beavis and Butt-Head watch young Beavis and Butt-Head on TV.

While this isn't the first time that fans have seen the duo as older versions of themselves, seeing older Beavis and Butt-Head watch younger Beavis and Butt-Head highlights their differences. And yes, those differences – like older Butt-Head using a mobility scooter – are plentiful enough to elicit some decent laughs.

When Beavis Gets Injured

One of the biggest advantages of animation is that laughing at characters being injured is guilt-free. Some of the funniest moments in Beavis and Butt-Head's lengthy history come when one of the two experiences some degree of pain.

It might be unfair to Beavis, but watching him experience any sort of discomfort is always a highlight. There are several moments in the new trailer in which he's screaming and even bloodied, but his berserk reaction to pain remains priceless, rather than morbid. What's more, Butt-Head's response to Beavis' agony is always just moronic chuckling.

When Beavis Rode On A Weird Butt-Head Unicorn

Despite the sometimes unrealistic situations that Beavis and Butt-Head find themselves in, their lives are typically based on reality. In the new trailer, however, there's a wild moment where Beavis rides on a unicorn/Pegasus hybrid that looks exactly like Butt-Head.

Aside from the bizarre nature of this moment, it provides insight into what sort of humor Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe is going to offer. It really seems that Mike Judge has let his imagination run wild this time, and this ultra-weird Butt-Head creature is the perfect example.
